HOW LONG IS A BASIC PORTRAIT SESSION?

All portrait sessions (including family, pets, seniors, etc) are up to two hours. Additional time may be added by request, but most sessions take around an hour of shooting to complete.

WHEN DO I GET MY PHOTOS BACK?

About 2-3 weeks for most portrait sessions and 4-6 weeks for weddings. Certain collection items like albums can sometimes extend this timeline.

HOW DO I BOOK & PAY?

Everything is done via an easy-peasy online system. There is more detailed information about this in your pricing brochure.

HOW FAR IN ADVANCE SHOULD I BOOK?

For portraits, sometimes the same week works out, but I recommend 2-6 weeks in order to have a better choice of time slots. Sunrise and evenings are ideal for portraits (I know, sunrise sounds insane. But it’s worth it.)

Wedding clients typically book 8-12 months in advance, especially for June and September dates.

PHOTOS SEEM EXPENSIVE, DO I REALLY NEED THEM?

We all have phones, I get it. Everyone can document their lives these days. How many of those phone pics do you have framed on your wall, on your desk, or stuck on the fridge? Probably less than 5%.

Most things that are worth it take a particular combo of time and money to achieve. And professional photos are worth it.

Invest in something beautiful and simple. You show up and you end up with a gorgeous collection of full-edited photographs ready to display around the house for decades to come (and a nifty digital back-up to accompany every collection).

DO YOU TRAVEL?

I love to travel everywhere for photo commissions. I charge $.50 per mile after the first 5o miles from my address in Minneapolis, MN. For commissions outside of Minnesota or the United States I charge travel and hotel fees. Discounts are available for areas where I may already be booked, so don’t forget to ask if I’ll be near.

WHAT DOES FULL-DAY WEDDING COVERAGE MEAN & WHY DO I NEED IT?

Full day coverage means I’ll be there the entire day (typically 8 hours) and there is no time limit. Getting ready to the dance floor, I cover it all. Unless otherwise requested, I recommend scheduling my arrival for 1-2 hours before the couple is ready. I typically depart 1-2 hours after the first dance.

My photo style tells a story of your day. It’s pretty difficult to tell a story if you’re missing the beginning or the end. That’s why I choose to offer full day coverage. My slide shows, blog posts, and wedding albums are designed to chronologically tell your story because I really believe that weddings are much more than the ceremony alone.

HOW MANY WEDDINGS HAVE YOU SHOT?

As of this writing, over 100.

DO YOU HAVE INSURANCE?

Absolutely.

DO YOU SHOOT BY YOURSELF OR WITH ANOTHER PHOTOGRAPHER?

Usually I shoot alone but I offer second shooters as an add-on to any wedding package if you’d prefer the extra coverage.

WHEN DO I HAVE TO PAY?

A retainer fee is required at the time of booking for all sessions & wedding bookings. The remaining balance must be received two weeks prior to your wedding day. I accept cash, check, PayPal and credit card.

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?

Honestly, be yourself. You want your personality to come through as authentically as possible so wear what you normally wear and you’ll be much more comfortable during the session.

DO I GET COPYRIGHTS TO MY PHOTOS?

You may print your photos, post online, and share your photos with whoever you’d like. I don’t watermark images you receive and ask that you credit www.nataliechampajennings.com when posting online. You may not do is sell your images or use them to make a profit. You also may not alter/re-edit the images.

As your photographer I also retain copyrights to your photographs to use for promotional use.
